A house builder has defended its use of a sprinkler during a hosepipe ban across the South West.
The sprinkler was pictured in use at Persimmon Homes Kemeneth on the outskirts of Bodmin.
A local resident said it had been running every day for at least a week and felt the restrictions did not go far enough for businesses.
Persimmon Homes said the grass being watered was exempt from the hosepipe ban, which was introduced by South West Water (SWW), because it was newly laid turf.
Resident Steve Garrard said: "Some businesses have to be exempt from the hosepipe ban in order to operate, but this exemption must come with responsibility. Restrictions do not go far enough for businesses, when you have the likes of Persimmon doing this and the multitude of holiday parks refilling their individual hot tubs (outside their chalets) every week."
Persimmon Homes told CornwallLive that the turf was laid within the last month, so it falls under an exemption to the hosepipe ban.
On SWW's website, under garden use, the exemption says "turf that has been laid within the last 28 days" can still be watered with a hose.
