With the summer holidays coming to an end and colder days creeping in, many people are already looking forward to the darker nights and one particular favourite: Halloween.
In Newquay, the town is gearing up for the popular time of year with its annual Spooky Newquay celebrations and the much loved Zombie Crawl. This full week of free family Halloween entertainment runs from Saturday, October 24 to Saturday, October 31.
What began as a small local family event has grown into a major Halloween celebration, attracting families from across the Duchy and beyond. Many people now time their holidays to coincide with the Zombie Crawl.
Spooky Newquay begins on Saturday, October 24, with a programme of free Halloween workshops and activities taking place across the town between 11am and 2pm. Families can get creative and prepare for the Zombie Crawl with a host of spooky activities. Titan the Robot will also return for another special appearance, bringing his unique brand of entertainment to the Killacourt at 2pm.
The main event, the Zombie Crawl, sets off at 3pm from Oakleigh Terrace, with hundreds of zombies, monsters, families, performers and spooky characters making their way through the heart of Newquay. The crawl will finish at Sainsbury’s at approximately 4.30pm.
Newquay Town Council is supporting the event alongside WAX Events and many other local organisations. This year, the council has developed an interactive online Spooky Newquay map to help families find their way around the town, discover activities and see what’s happening at different locations. Printed maps will also be available.
Families can also pick up a Spooky Newquay Passport, encouraging them to explore different parts of the town and visit participating businesses. Each business will have its own spooky stamp. Once families have collected their stamps, they can hand in their passport during half term week for the chance to win Spooky Newquay prizes.
Alongside the main event, Newquay BID will be supporting local businesses, attractions, hospitality venues and community organisations as the whole town joins the Halloween celebrations.

“The feedback we had last year was incredible, with so many people telling us they had never seen Newquay so busy. It shows just how much potential this event has, not only as a fantastic community celebration but also as a major boost for the town’s economy and visitor numbers outside the main summer season.”
