Devon Woman, 60, Mistaken for Daughter’s Sister Over Anti-Ageing Habits

A grandmother from Devon says free anti-ageing habits she does every day have left people thinking she is 20 years younger. Astrid Zeegen-Holt says people cannot figure out how old she really is.

She says she has been mistaken for her 32-year-old daughter’s sister, but the 60-year-old does not have a fancy or expensive routine. She puts it down to a few simple practices that cost nothing.

“I remember when I was mistaken for being my daughter’s sister on a cruise,” said the content creator, from Devon. “We got chatting to a couple, who after a few days, said that when they first met us they thought we were sisters.

“I was flattered – obviously. People don’t often believe I’m 60. They say I’m ageing backwards. But it’s all down to a few simple things. My skincare is important.

“I always take my make-up off. I try to walk 10,000 steps a day and only eat between 11am and 6pm. The biggest trick, though? Attitude. It plays a big part in how long you look and feel.

“I feel like I did when I was so much younger – apart from my achy bits – but I get up and live every day like it’s my last.”

She begins her day with fruit, Greek yoghurt and honey. At lunchtime, she will have leftover chicken from the previous night’s dinner, and for tea it is usually an omelette with crackers and cheese or salad.

Astrid’s fashion sense also plays a role. She prioritises comfort over trends and purchases her wardrobe from small ethical independent shops, as well as vintage stores.
