The public is being invited to an open day by Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service.
The free event will be held at Service Headquarters in Clyst St George on Sunday, September 6, from 10am to 4pm. It offers a behind-the-scenes look at the work of the fire and rescue service.
Andy Smith, Assistant Chief Fire Officer at Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service, said: "Our SHQ Open Day is a fantastic opportunity for everyone to come along, meet some of the people who work for the Service, and see first-hand the wide range of things we do to help keep Devon and Somerset safe.
"There will be several demonstrations and activities to learn more about fire prevention, road safety, and how we respond to incidents.
"We will be joined by some of our partner organisations; there will be live music and a range of food and activity stalls to enjoy.
"There is something for all the family.
"We're looking forward to welcoming visitors of all ages for what promises to be a great day."
The event will include emergency service demonstrations, guided tours of fire appliances, live entertainment, and refreshments. Visitors will have the chance to talk with firefighters and prevention officers to learn practical safety tips for the home, road, and outdoors.
The open day will also raise funds for The Fire Fighters Charity, which supports serving and retired members of the UK fire services and their families.
