A charity has launched an appeal for a rescue puppy in Newquay fighting for her life after emergency surgery.
Hazel, who has already experienced three homes in her short life, came to the attention of St Francis Dogs Home after a member of the public contacted the charity about the desperately ill puppy.
She was suffering from severe haemorrhagic diarrhoea and was so unwell she was taken to Edhen vets as an emergency case.
Veterinary staff suspected intussusception, a life-threatening condition in which one part of the intestine slides inside another, which can cause a blockage and cut off the blood supply to the bowel.

Sammy Thompson, fundraising manager at St Francis Dogs Home, said: "Hazel is only 20 weeks old and has already been through more upheaval than any puppy should have to endure.
"When we were contacted, she was incredibly ill and her condition was potentially fatal.
"There was no time to wait – emergency surgery was her only chance of survival."
During the operation, vets discovered sections of Hazel's intestine had become necrotic and difficult to repair.
The charity now faces a £3,000 veterinary bill for her treatment and has launched an urgent fundraising appeal.

Hazel's new owner had no information about her previous medical history and no insurance in place to cover the unexpected veterinary emergency.
Ms Thompson said: "The operation was extremely serious, and we still don't know what the outcome will be.
"But Hazel is fighting – and we want to give her every possible chance."
The charity is asking the public to donate what they can or help by sharing Hazel's story to reach their fundraising goal.
"Even a small donation could help us continue providing the treatment she needs," Ms Thompson added.
