A fire that damaged a motorcycle late at night in a Cornish hamlet is being treated as arson. Cornwall Fire & Rescue Service was alerted soon after midnight on Thursday (September 17) to the blaze at Tregrehan Mills, between St Austell and St Blazey and near the Eden Project.
A fire engine from St Austell Community Fire Station went to the scene, and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus put out the flames. The motorcycle was well alight when they arrived.
A spokesperson said: "One appliance from St Austell attended this incident which involved a motorcycle that was well alight. Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using a hosereel extinguished the fire. The cause of the fire is believed to be arson and the police have been informed."
