St Austell Man Admits Assaulting Police in Cornwall and Kent

Zacharia Howse, 34, of no fixed abode, St Austell, pleaded guilty at Truro Crown Court to assaulting two police officers on separate occasions. He admitted assaulting an officer at Market Hill, St Austell, on July 19.

He also pleaded guilty to using or threatening violence towards others between July 17 and 20, and to assaulting a police officer occasioning actual bodily harm at Sheerness, Kent, in October 2025. Howse was given a 21-month custodial sentence, with 13 months to be spent in prison.

A charge of threatening a man with a knife that had a three-inch blade on North Street, St Austell, on July 18, will remain on file.
