A new bulk-buy supermarket is set to open in a Devon town next month and has applied for permission to sell alcohol. The Food Warehouse, owned by Iceland Foods, will open at Honiton Retail Park. The company has submitted an application to East Devon District Council for an alcohol licence.
The store is due to open on Tuesday 6 October. A Facebook post from the retailer says it will bring "new and exclusive" brands and a "great selection of bigger value packs".
An Iceland Foods spokesperson said: "This application is for our new Food Warehouse store at Honiton Retail Park, due to open on Tuesday 6th October. If granted, the licence will enable us to offer customers our full grocery range, including alcohol, in line with other Food Warehouse stores across Great Britain."
The opening adds another discount-style store to the town, which already has Aldi and Lidl.
