Illuminated carnival processions returned to the streets of the South West on Saturday night as Seaton Carnival got the East Devon circuit under way. The bright lights, dancing and music returned as crowds came out in force to cheer on the carnival clubs and their carts in the first procession of the season.
Next Generation JCC, with their illuminated entry 'School of Rock', claimed the overall top prize for best overall entry as well as best juvenile entry. Sid Vale CC with 'Rock of Ages' took first place in open feature.
Below are some of the best pictures from the carnival, while at the top of the video you can watch some video highlights. If you missed out on seeing the entries, don't worry, as there are plenty more processions taking place across Devon and Somerset in upcoming weeks.
