People are being asked for their views on the future of one of Newton Abbot's most important development sites. Architects and designers have prepared two housing options for Bradley Lane.
The project has faced years of delays and has been described as a once-in-a-generation opportunity. Bradley Lane is a key site in the Newton Abbot Town Centre Masterplan.
Teignbridge District Council is inviting residents to a drop-in event. A staffed information stand will be located in Courtenay Street, Newton Abbot on Wednesday 9 September 2026 from 11am to 3pm.
The proposals include different layouts, housing types and public spaces. Both options aim to create an attractive, sustainable neighbourhood with strong connections to the town centre.
The brownfield site has a controversial history but could generate more than 100 new homes for the town.
Option A is for 75 extra care homes arranged around a shared courtyard, with communal spaces. The option includes 35 general needs homes for people of all ages. Option B is for extra care homes along the River Lemon and 29 general homes.
The event will give people the opportunity to view the proposals in more detail, ask questions and help shape the next stage of the project. Residents will be able to view the plans, speak to the project team and share their views on:
