A pensioner who was caught with images of children as young as six being anally raped and bound has avoided jail.
James Sharratt was found in possession of four category A indecent images of children and one high end category B indecent image, as well as images of deviant bestiality involving a person performing oral sex on a dog and a horse.
The offence took place on May 15, 2023.
The 70-year-old, from Station Road in St Mabyn, pleaded guilty to one count of possessing indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of a child, four category A photographs of a child, and one count of possessing one indecent photograph in category B image of a child.
He also pleaded guilty to one charge of possessing extreme pornographic images or images portraying an act of intercourse or oral sex with a dead or alive animal.
He appeared before Bodmin Magistrates' Court for sentencing on Friday, September 4. The magistrates sentenced him to 34 weeks in prison suspended for 12 months, 10 days of rehabilitation, and placed him on the sex offenders' register for 10 years.
The magistrates also imposed a sexual harm prevention order restricting his access to the internet for 10 years.
