A woman has been brought to safety after an emergency incident at a multi-storey car park in Truro.
Devon and Cornwall Police were called at 5.35pm on Tuesday, September 1, over concerns for the woman's welfare on the top level of the car park in St Clement Street. Officers attended and spoke with her, and an ambulance was also at the scene.
The force said she was brought to safety at around 6.15pm and was detained under the Mental Health Act. The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Police were called at 5.35pm on Tuesday 1 September following concern for the welfare of a woman on top of the multi-storey car park in St Clement Street, Truro.
“Officers attended and spoke with the woman.
“She was brought to safety around 6.15pm and detained under the Mental Health Act.
“The woman was taken into the care of health professionals.
“Ambulance also attended.
“The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident.”
