Camborne Town Council has explained why the fountain in the centre of town has been temporarily drained.
In a Facebook post, the council said the decision followed “continued incidents of vandalism, tampering and misuse.”
These incidents have led to repeated cleaning, maintenance and repairs, resulting in “significant ongoing costs.”
A spokesperson added: “Unfortunately, this level of expenditure is not sustainable in the long term.”

The council said it is now exploring alternative solutions that would allow the fountain to continue operating while preventing further interference and vandalism.
Updates will be shared when more information becomes available, and the council has thanked the community for its understanding and patience.
