A woman made a desperate call for help after her partner slashed her neck and stamped on her, leaving her battered and bleeding.
Martyn Boyns and his now ex-partner were arguing in the kitchen of their home at 3.30am when she pushed him. He then punched her in the face and stamped on her head while she was on the floor.
When she stood up to him and said she was not afraid, the 41-year-old grabbed a knife and slashed her across the top of her neck, then slashed at her neck a second time. As she fell, he stamped on her bleeding neck.
Boyns' victim was later able to call her sister, telling her: "I need you, he stabbed me."
Covered in blood, she called the police and was taken to West Cornwall Hospital in Penzance. She had a 4cm wound above her windpipe and another 8cm superficial slash wound above
