A 65-year-old convicted sex offender has been jailed for breaching a sexual harm prevention order. James Defalco, from Paignton, was first given the order at Exeter Crown Court in 2005. He appeared at the same court 21 years later and was sent to prison.

Mark Oprey, of no fixed address, Exeter, aged 38, pleaded guilty to stealing a pair of jeans from Next on 18 August 2026. He was sentenced to eight weeks in prison and breached a suspended sentence.
Kirsty Moore, of no fixed address, Exeter, aged 37, pleaded guilty to harassment by breaching a restraining order, using threatening words and behaviour, criminal damage, and possession of a sharp point (scissors) on 7 June 2026. She was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison for breach of a court order.
Finley Simpson, of Lawn Road, Exmouth, aged 20, pleaded guilty to assaulting a male by beating on 7 December 2025. He received a community order for six months, with a requirement to abstain from alcohol for 60 days, rehabilitation activity for 26 days, unpaid work for 140 hours, and compensation of £200.
Neil Omari, of no fixed address, Exeter, aged 51, pleaded guilty to assaulting a female by beating on 16 August 2026 at Sidwell Street, Exeter. He received a conditional discharge for 12 months and was ordered to pay £100 compensation.
Damian Meacham, of Bernadette Close, Exeter, aged 41, pleaded guilty to stealing from B&Q on 8 April 2026 and stealing a TV from Tesco. He received a community order for 12 months and was ordered to pay £415 compensation.
Mark Beck, of no fixed address, Ilfracombe, aged 56, pleaded guilty to harassment by breach of a restraining order on 1 August 2026 at Westward Ho! He was sentenced to eight months in prison for breach of a suspended sentence.
Martin Phipps, of Hughes Avenue, Barnstaple, aged 40, pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Transit dangerously on the A388 at Milton Dameral on 1 May 2026. He was sentenced to 10 months in prison, suspended for two years, with a substantial risk of causing serious injury. He was also ordered to do 180 hours of unpaid work and was disqualified from driving for 18 months.
Adam Dennis, of Parkham, Bideford, aged 33, pleaded guilty to drink driving on 16 May 2026 at Bideford, with 110mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. He was disqualified for 14 months and fined £623.
Paul Blinkhorn, of Parkland Drive, aged 43, pleaded guilty to fraud of £15,000 by abuse of position as manager of Seabrook House between 1 November 2023 and 5 September 2024 at Exeter. He was sentenced to 12 months in prison, suspended for 18 months, with 120 hours of unpaid work. No compensation was ordered as the defendant has repaid the sum.
Jermey Wassall, of Albion Terrace, Exmouth, aged 61, pleaded guilty to drink driving on Henrietta Road on 9 August 2026, with 88mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, and driving without due care and attention. He was fined £400, disqualified for 22 months, and ordered to pay £200 compensation.
Brian Cawley, of Pinhoe Road, Exeter, aged 61, pleaded guilty to stealing fragrances worth £602 from John Lewis on 23 August 2026. He was fined £120.
Solomon Hill, of Winner Street, Paignton, aged 32, pleaded guilty to inflicting GBH without intent on 12 August 2025 at Paignton. He received a two-year sentence suspended for two years, with alcohol abstinence and monitoring for 120 days, unpaid work for 200 hours, up to 32 rehabilitation days, compensation of £1,000, and a restraining order.
