Road closures are planned across Truro over the coming months. Truro City Council has announced that traffic management will be in place on Boscawen Street and Lower Lemon Street as part of Cornwall Council's ongoing road maintenance and improvement programme. The works are part of a wider scheme to repair granite setts and pavements.
The programme runs from Monday, September 7 to Friday, November 6, 2026. The affected streets will have traffic management in place 24 hours a day, seven days a week throughout the project. Boscawen Street will undergo repairs to its granite setts, which have deteriorated and need full replacement in sections. Lower Lemon Street will see footway improvements aimed at making the area safer and more accessible for pedestrians.
Cornwall Council says road closures will be required at times to allow crews to work safely. Diversions will be signposted, and access for businesses and residents will be maintained where possible. The council added that while disruption is expected, the works are essential to preserve the historic streetscape and improve long-term safety.
