Two men have been charged in connection with an alleged incident in Truro city centre on Monday, August 24.
Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed that Sinjar Zurel, 27, and Seyin Zurel, 24, both from the Malpas area of Truro, face two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. Sinjar Zurel is also charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession of a knife blade or sharp pointed article in a public place.
Both have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at Truro Magistrates’ Court today, Wednesday, August 26.
Police attended Calenick Street at 1.45pm following a report of a violent disturbance involving multiple people. One man was taken to hospital with potentially serious injuries, which have since been assessed as not life-threatening or life-changing.
The force reminded the public that legal proceedings are active and that sharing footage online could jeopardise the ongoing investigation. Enquiries continue.
