Police are looking for safe and suitable places to train and develop police dogs.
Devon and Cornwall Police said its dogs need to practise sniffing, searching and chasing skills regularly, but the force is "really struggling" to find appropriate venues.
To help with the search, it is appealing to land and property owners and local businesses for assistance in finding adequate spaces.
The force is looking for large areas of land such as fields and farmland, as well as vacant and used buildings, along the Exeter, M5, A30, and A38 corridors.
It said it is "fully reliant on the goodwill of local landowners" who want to support their local police dogs, and in return would receive a visible police presence on their land.
