A large fire has broken out in a field near Broadclyst. Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service are dealing with a blaze on a solar panel site in the area. Ten fire crews are in attendance, and they are asking the public to avoid the area.
A spokesperson for the service said: "We are currently dealing with a large field fire on a Solar Panel site near Broadclyst, Devon. We have 10 fire engines in attendance. Please avoid the area."

The fire service has said on its website that the incident was closed at 2.11pm today (August 24). There are no new details at this time.

The fire is approximately 500m by 300m, which is the size of 16 standard football pitches placed side by side.
A spokesperson said: "Fire Control received multiple calls for a fire rapidly spreading underneath solar panels. The fire area is believed to be roughly 300M X 500M. Once in attendance crews requested further resources, making the total fire engines in attendance 10. Crews are currently working hard to extinguish the fire and prevent any fire spread. A drone is also in use to survey the area. Further updates to follow."
