CornwallLive readers have been sharing their views after the announcement that several months of roadworks are underway in Truro city centre.
The project is designed to restore damaged sections while maintaining the historic character of the streets. The council says the setts often need maintenance because of the effects of modern traffic and natural movement over the years.
Barriers were put in place on Monday, 7th September on Boscowen Street and Lemon Street. Cormac will carry out the work for Cornwall Council over two months, with completion expected in November.
The work includes lifting, cleaning, and relaying granite setts at six spots along the street that need restoration. It is part of a regular maintenance programme driven by the demands of modern life on the historic cobbled surfaces.
