Electronic producer & DJ ANNA today reveals that acclaimed musician, sound designer and creative Max Cooper has remixed her collaboration with the electro-acoustic and contemporary classical giant East Forest.

The London based audio-visual artist adds new electronica contours that magnifies ‘Let You In’s fragile and psychedelically charged yet emotionally warm admission, foregrounding his admiration of songcraft and incorporating the originals rich harmonics with his own sonic signature.

ANNA’s long-form ambient debut ‘Intentions’ is rich with inviting possibilities and alive in freedom. It’s an introspective listening experience of both reflection and integration – a direct result of ANNA’s self-realisation journey. It sees her trading in her tougher, club-driven production for sound healing frequencies and ambient sensibilities. The project includes collaborations and remixes from leading leftfield electronic artists including ambient guru Laraaji, East Forest, Jon Hopkins, and now Max Cooper. In addition, the album comes with a special listening guide written by ANNA, inviting the listener to set an intention for each track, which has been ordered and equipped with its own specific purpose.

With an effortless sense of musical identity, the collaborative ‘Let You In’ with East Forest was released as the final album single and has now been remixed by one of electronic music’s most accomplished artists and one of ANNA’s most admired peers.

“I have been a fan of Max Cooper for years!!! Just to have him as part of my ‘Intentions’ album was such a gift. But when I heard his remix for the first time it was such a joy! What a beautiful, perfectly produced piece of music. It strongly has his signature sound and also the essence of our original track. East Forest and I could not be happier with this one. So much love to Max for this incredible work” ANNA
Cloaked in composition and performance and created with glitchy sample processing Max Cooper’s remix accents a gracious move away from the rigidity of electronic music lexicon; hovering at the very edge of digital abstraction with warm waves of stuttering skips that are refreshingly loose and playful.
“The original has a beautiful piano riff I wanted to reimagine for the remix. So I mapped it to a synth and let that guide me through the development and arrangement, playing with delay and filtering to add my own expression on top of what was already there. The flow of that one element then more or less set what needed to fit around it, in terms of the mid way lull and then the broken beats and bass growl section later on. It needed a lot of taming and balancing to try keep the soft vibe whilst letting things open up a bit, and then finally, a lot of micro-detailing around the main structure for any of you who like listening with a good stereo field to find the hidden elements. It was one of those projects which seemed to flow quite naturally from the ideas of the original, and how my production approach could fit into its story”  Max Cooper
