National Cornish Business Celebrates 25th Anniversary With New Warehouse Headquarters

Cornish business, Cornish Industrial Supplies, are expanding to new premises as they celebrate their 25th year as an independent and family-run company.

This year will be an exciting one for Cornish Industrial Supplies (CIS). They have ambitious plans for 2023, and are celebrating both the company’s continued growth and 25th anniversary under current ownership with a move to a larger warehouse facility. The new premises can be found in Bucklers Lane in St Austell.

As a leading provider of safety equipment, cleaning and hygiene, clothing and PPE, they support a large number of food industry businesses both in Cornwall and nationally, and hope this long-planned expansion will see them grow from strength to strength.

Ian Munn, Managing Director of CIS, said of the year ahead:

‘We are incredibly excited to make this step up to bigger and better facilities, in a year which fittingly marks 25 years in business. The roots of CIS go back even further and we are determined to use this stability to continue evolving as a company and provide secure employment in Cornwall, whilst growing our customer base locally and nationally.’

CIS’s expertise and personal service is a hallmark of their 25 years as a family-run business. In 1998, Alastair Munn (Director), moved to Cornwall and took over the existing CIS, which had been established in 1964. Using his 35 years of experience he has led the company’s expansion, now boasting a loyal and growing customer base.

Robert Wing, Director of Wing of St Mawes, has been a customer of CIS for a number of years. When asked about the expansion he said:

‘The team at CIS really understands the food industry and the needs of each area of our operations. This expansion will be a great move for them, we look forward to seeing it progress.’

Working alongside his sons, Ian Munn (Director and General Manager) and Bruce Munn (Director of Sales), Alastair and his family team are as committed as ever to supporting local businesses as they look to further add to their national client portfolio.

Of the move, Ian said:

‘This is a significant announcement for us and an exciting moment in the growth of the business. The move will increase our storage and processing capacity so we can increase our service offering to existing and new customers. It will allow us to develop certain aspects of the company and invest in the future of CIS. We are looking forward to the year ahead!’

An open morning will take place on Tuesday 1st August, please join for refreshments and to see the new premises from 10am-12pm. To keep up with CIS’ latest news and updates please follow the Cornish Industrial Supplies LinkedIn page.
