Cannes trip costs revealed

CORNWALL Council has revealed the break down of the costs incurred during the recent
high-level trip to Cannes.
The council paid out £46,193.52 for six representatives, including chief executive Kate
Kennally, to spend four days at the MIPIM real estate conference which took place at the Palais des Festivals – a convention centre where the Cannes Film Festival is held.
The total bill to taxpayers includes a minibus from and to Nice Airport for £826.36, six tickets to the MIPIM conference for £10,350, an apartment for hosting breakfasts and work meetings, which cost £19,083, another apartment costing £4,800, and hosted breakfasts at a cost of £2,258. There had been some confusion over the true cost of the trip to the south of France after Cornwall Council failed to respond to questions on the timing, transparency and costs incurred.
