Two men stole £1,799 worth of wines and spirits at a Newquay superstore after filling up a trolley and walking out.

The suspects visited Sainsbury’s in Alma Place and made off the alcohol on Tuesday, April 12, at about 12 noon.

The first suspect is described as a tanned male, possibly of Mediterranean origin, aged early to mid-20s, 6ft tall, short dark hair and clean shaven, wearing a light grey hooded jacket, blue jeans and white trainers.

The second suspect, is described as a white male aged early to mid-20s, 5ft 10ins to 6ft tall, dark wavy hair and beard, wearing a blue jacket, grey trousers and reflective yellow shoes.

A police spokesman said: “The pair were captured on CCTV filling two large carrier bags in a trolley with a large quantity of expensive bottles of alcohol, then walking out of the store passing the till area making no attempt to pay.”

Anyone who recognises these men or has any information can call police via 101, quoting crime reference CR/023599/16.
