Rick Stein chef to demonstrate at show

A top chef from Rick Stein’s new Newquay restaurant is set to demonstrate his cooking skills at the harbour this September.

Head Chef of Rick Stein’s new Fistral Restaurant, Fergus Coyle, will be among a host of top chefs taking time out from their busy restaurants to show visitors to the Newquay Fish Festival how to prepare locally landed fish and shellfish.

Fergus told the Voice: “"I'm delighted to be invited to Newquay Fish Festival this September. There's some fantastic local produce in the area as well as talented chefs and suppliers and I'm looking forward to being a part of it all.
“I haven't decided on the dish I will demo yet, but it's likely to be one of Rick's favourite recipes that we'll be featuring on our menu at Fistral."

It will be the thirteenth time the event has been held. Over the years the Festival has grown to become one of the South West’s top food events, attracting more than 20,000 visitors. It is hosted during a ‘shoulder season’ week that giving a welcome boost to the late summer season for local businesses in Newquay.

The event attracts top chefs including Nathan Outlaw and BBC MasterChef's James Nathan. This year evening entertainment includes the return of Last Night of the Proms to the Friday night of the Festival, and for the first time a Celtic Ceilidh on the Saturday night. Tickets for both nights are available from Newquay TIC and from the Visit Newquay website.

The 2015 Newquay Fish Festival will take place from September 11-13 at Newquay Harbour.
