It was quite a surprise to the partygoers in Glasgow when the famous actor Samuel L. Jackson showed up on the side of the stage during one of the most well-attended club nights in the city.
This came just a few days after the 74-year-old actor was photographed filming a new crime thriller in West Lothian. On Saturday night, the actor attended Bongo’s Bingo at SWG3, where he had the best seat in the house.
He was then spotted snatching a clip of some of the dancers while they were performing and was photographed with some of the show’s stars, drawing audiences in the hundreds nationwide.
Jackson can be seen in the video footage chuckling from the side of the stage as he watches a drag act. The video was caught by Capital FM radio DJ Katy J and shared on social media.
The club party night is hosted in venues all throughout the UK. It bills itself as a combination of “classic bingo, dance-offs, rave intervals, and audience engagement.”
Organiser Ste Taylor described the experience as “surreal” and joked he hoped to see the Pulp Fiction star return before jetting home.
“We were in the middle of playing a game of bingo, and I looked over to the side of the stage, I was gobsmacked,” he said.
“Me and the tech who was nearby were kind of looking at each other and nodding. He was just chilled out and enjoying the show.
“One of our dancers was up, and he had his phone out filming, and then we had our rave round, and he was chucking glow sticks into the crowd and batting balloons back and forth.”
Jackson is in Scotland to film Damaged – a crime thriller about a Chicago detective on the trail of a string of murders alongside Gianni Capaldi, Kate Dickie and John Hannah.
The film, which also stars Westworld’s Vincent Cassel, is being directed by Terry McDonough.
Ste joked that he would not rule out Bongo’s Bingo making a cameo in the movie.
“It was a bit of a surreal experience We got to meet him afterwards, and he was a nice guy, really friendly,” he said.
