Ben is champion long boarder

highest scoring wave at the UK pro tour events this year.
But Russell was unfortunately knocked out in the quarter finals due to challenging surfing conditions.

Gul Rider Mark Harris reached the semi finals in a high scoring heat but missed out on the best waves. Gordon Fontaine of France won the event taking the title back to his new home in Bournemouth, with his winnings going towards a new car so he can surf more!

The finals of the longboard event saw the usual line up with Gul Team Rider Ben Haworth sadly missing a win as the title was retained by last years winner Ben Skinner.

The women’s event was taken by Anne Cecile, making it a double for the French in the finals (by all accounts they were making up for there country’s performance in the World cup!)

Fireworks ended the night and the bands and DJs took the competitors partying into the early hours to really finish the event off.

Gul Brand Manager Jake Patterson said “Another great year for the Gul Night Surf and the uk pro surf tour.

“The UK surf talent is very high and seems to be getting better every year, the Gul Night surf attracts all the top UK surfers making it a very core event.

“At Gul we have been very committed to supporting our core business and this event shows how strong our commitment is, the event in a one of a kind spectacular and we are very happy to be hosting it. This year we streamed the event live on the Gul Night Surf page to allow everybody the opportunity to be involved, this was also a great success.”

The Custard point SUP was also a great success. Now in its second year it has established itself as an integral part of the Nightsurf. This year’s champion was Chris Griffiths from Wales who narrowly defeated last year’s winner Elliot Dudley.

The Relentless Money move went to two times tour winner Lee Bartlett for a floater he performed in his quarter final heat.
